Jim Sturgill, Wilderness Leader, could not attend due to work conflicts, however, he was honored for providing FOJ with 10 years of hikes to Virginia’s Treasured Places. Catherine Welsh has contributed to the Club conservation activities, and served through years of programs and fun events as our Social Chair. Gretchen and Tom Cole were also honored for extraordinary efforts during many years of University of Richmond recycling sales.

Bill, John, Bucci and Catherine did the flipping, and our members and guests brought those fine salads, vegan dishes, and desserts.

To top off a perfect night Ralph White provided Sierrans with a tour of the Historic Pump House and gave us his vision of restoration and planned improvements for making the building accessible. Those wishing to contribute to this restoration may contact the Friends of James River Park with a note saying that is is for the Pump House Fund. The project this fall is the construction of a handicap accessible ramp, The address is James River Park System, 4001 Riverside Drive, Richmond VA 23225.

Those Shockoe Bottom Boys performed while many folks toured the Pump House, but those remaining enjoyed the blue grass music.
