Seeking Volunteer Clean Air Local Coordinators

The Virginia Chapter, working with the Virginia Clean Air Advocates, a collaboration of health and environmental organizations, is seeking people in your region to volunteer as Clean Air Local Coordinators. If you've ever been interested in air quality issues--CO2, NOx and mercury pollution, please consider helping us out! This volunteer will be help us promote the proposed Clean Smoke Stacks legislation over the coming months. There are many legislators in the Great Falls area who are on their Ag/Natural Resources Commitees, so it's really important that we get people up there helping out--getting people to sign postcards to them, raising local awareness.

Time commitment could be as little or as expansive as someone has to offer. At a minimum, we are looking for someone who will be willing to get folks to sign a few postcards to their legislators and who could commit to writing several letters to the editor in the local paper.

This job could obviously entail more time for someone who really wanted to get involved - or who wanted to get their friends involved. For example, manning/organizing a both at local events, organizing a local informational event around the Clean Air/Clean Smoke Stacks issue, and asking businesses in the area to sign on to the resolution supporting Clean Smoke Stacks legislation. We will provide you with campaign materials and any support requested (i.e., someone to brief a gathering at the local library).
